In fiber production, particularly in the manufacturing of textile fiber/filament a high process consistency regarding pressure and temperature is an essential prerequisite for an efficient production. Minimization of the melt dwell time in the filtration system is very important. High throughput rates make a fully-automatic mode of operation of the filtration system without any influence on the process necessary. The RSFgenius was developed especially for these requirements and makes continuous cost reductions in the manufactu – ring process with top qualities possible. The filtration system is suitable for extrusion spinning as well as for continuous direct spinning lines.

The advantages of Rotary Filtration

  • Removal of inhomogeneities from color and additive masterbatch
    The process-constant filtration of the RSFgenius assures a homogeneous dispersion of color and additive masterbatch in the melt.
  • Constant pressure = constant temperature in the spinpack = constant product properties
    Thanks to the process-constant mode of operation of the RSFgenius as a pre-filter, the temperature in the spinpack can be kept constant, so that variations of product properties are excluded. This also leads to an improvement of yarn qualities in secondary processes like texturizing and weaving.
  • Consistent material properties thanks to a short dwell time of the melt
    Thermal degradation of the melt is avoided, the viscosity remains constant. In this aspect the RSFgeniusis substantially different from conventional candle or disk filters.
  • Longer spinpack lifetime
    The process-constant mode of operation of the RSFgenius avoids any influence on the spinning process all year. Pre-filtration with < 10 µm directly upstream of the spinpack is possible, so that the spinpack can be used primarily for melt homogenization.
  • Reduced material costs due to greater use of reclaim
    The RSFgenius with its integrated self-cleaning makes it possible to process a greater amount of reclaim, without impairing the product quality. This leads to reduced material costs.
